WATER SAFETY STATEMENT UPDATE FOR QUINTE CONSERVATION WATERSHED
Snow melt and rainfall caused water levels to rise across the Quinte Conservation watershed this past week.
Water Resources Manager Christine McClure says, “Small Creeks have peaked and their water levels have started to recede.”
She adds, “The large rivers have also peaked, with the exception of the Moira River at Foxboro, which is expected to peak next week.”

Mild temperatures and forecast rainfall will cause water levels to increase throughout the Moira, Napanee, and Prince Edward watersheds. The warmer temperatures could cause some localized or nuisance flooding of smaller creeks and ditches. Some low-lying land may see some ponded water. FLOOD OUTLOOK STATEMENT REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR QUINTE CONSERVATION WATERSHED
With warmer temperatures expected in the Quinte region later this week, there is a potential for snow melt and the increase in flows which may cause nuisance flooding in some areas.
