QUINTE CONSERVATION UPGRADES TO A FLOOD WARNING
The Quinte Conservation Watershed received less than the anticipated rainfall of 65 mm over the Easter weekend. Just over 15 mm of rainfall was recorded in the southern portions of the watershed. A high of 30 mm was recorded at the rain gauge on Hwy 7 near Deloro, along with 40 mm being recorded in the northern regions, including, at the Depot Lakes near Verona. FLOOD WATCH ISSUED FOR QUINTE CONSERVATION WATERSHED
Approximately 35 – 65 mm of rainfall is expected from Thursday to Saturday throughout the Quinte Conservation Watershed. There is uncertainty in the storm track and in exactly how much rain will be received, but it is possible that some regions may experience more than the anticipated 65 mm. QUINTE CONSERVATION’S FLOOD OUTLOOK STATEMENT CONTINUES
Temperatures in the double digits are expected across the watershed from Saturday to Tuesday. This will cause most of the measured and modeled snow, which contains 100 mm of water, at the headwaters of the Moira and Salmon Rivers to melt.
This snowmelt has the potential to increase river flows to normal, spring high water levels late next week.

FLOOD OUTLOOK EXTENDED AS QUINTE CONSERVATION CONTINUES TO MONITOR CONDITIONS
Up to 35 mm of rain is expected across the Quinte Conservation Watershed this weekend. Temperatures reaching a high of 10 degrees is forecasted for the southern regions of the watershed. Northern Regions can expect warmer conditions as well, but temperatures may not reach the same high. Warm temperatures will continue into next week from Tuesday to Thursday.
