QUINTE CONSERVATION’S WILD ABOUT WILDLIFE DAY IS COMING THIS JULY!
Quinte Conservation will be holding a Wild About Wildlife day from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm on:
 Thursday, July 4th at Wellington Town Park, Wellington ON
 Friday, July 5th at Tweed Memorial Park, Tweed ON
 Saturday, July 6th at Beaver Lake Park, Erinsville ON
Conservation Education Coordinator, Maya Navrot, says, “These events are great opportunities to get outdoors. Participants are encouraged to explore their environment and learn about fascinating creatures through hands-on interactive activities and displays. Each day is jam packed with a variety of activities introducing visitors to important messages around species conservation, water protection including flooding and drought management, and habitat enhancement.”
Activities Include:
 Make a paper pot and bring home a wildflower for bees and butterflies
 Meet live falcons and Ontario reptiles and amphibians at risk
 Learn about water bugs and meet some creek critters
 Learn about your watershed with our watershed model
 Examine natural items at the nature discovery table
 Create art in nature
 Paddling Puppeteer show starts at 11:30 am (Wellington and Erinsville)
Each event is free to attend. Donations for Quinte Conservation’s educational programs are greatly appreciated.
In order for your child to participate in a Wild About Wildlife day, they must be accompanied by an adult. Maya Navrot, adds, “We hope you have the opportunity to come out to this free, and fun educational day.”
The Friends of Salmon River will be co-hosting the event in Erinsville on July 6th at Beaver Lake Park. This event coincides with the Tamworth and District Lions Club Kid’s Fishing Day.
