FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 6, 2017
QUINTE CONSERVATION PHOTO CONTEST ENDING ON OCTOBER 31, 2017
As part of Quinte Conservation’s 70th Anniversary celebrations, the local environmental organization is hosting a photo contest. The contest is open until October 31, 2017 and contestants can submit their photographs from any of Quinte Conservation’s 23 conservation areas for their chance to win one of six prize packages. Contest winners will also have their photographs featured on Quinte Conservation greeting cards which will be used as a fundraiser for the organization throughout 2017 and 2018.
The grand prize winner will take home a family pass to Ripley’s Aquarium (2 Adult Passes, 2 Children’s passes), a VIA Rail credit of $250, Stirling Festival Theatre Tickets, a $50 Ivanhoe Cheese Gift Card, a Depot Lakes camping package, and an Ottawa Senators hat. Other sponsors of the event include the Quinte Mall, West City Honda, The Right Fit Personal Training Studio, East Side Mario’s, Red Ball Radio, and Toronto Zoo.
There are three separate categories in which contestants can enter their photographs, the first being “people”, where contestants are encouraged to take a photograph of their family or friends enjoying a recreational activity at a conservation area.
The second category is “wildlife”, where contestants can submit photos capturing wildlife in its natural habitat. Contestants should remember to not get too close, and to use a camera with a zoom lens in order to get the best and safest shot possible.
The third and final category is “landscapes”, where contestants are encouraged to get out and enjoy nature all year, and to take photographs at conservation areas throughout the different seasons to showcase the natural beauty within the Quinte Conservation watershed.
Contestants can find a full list of Quinte Conservation’s conservation areas online at www.quinteconservation.ca. Quinte’s conservation areas are free for the public and open 365 days a year from dawn until dusk.

Contestants should submit their photos to photocontest@quinteconservation.ca. Complete rules are available online at www.quinteconservation.ca.
