FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: May 29, 2020
QUINTE CONSERVATION EXTENDS FREE PARKING AT AREAS UNTIL SEPTEMBER 1st – DONATIONS TO SUPPORT THESE GREEN SPACES ARE GENEROUSLY ACCEPTED.
Free parking at Quinte Conservation’s areas has been extended once again as an effort to help connect residents to public green spaces during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Corporate Services Manager Tammy Smith says, “The pandemic has, in one way or another, impacted everyone in our watershed and throughout the rest of Canada. We understand that residents may be facing financial insecurities and if we can help alleviate some stress and connect individuals and families to nature at no cost, that is what we will aim to do.”
Visitors may continue to access the watershed’s conservation areas at no cost until September 1, 2020.
Guests who wish to make a donation to help preserve and protect these spaces for future generations can do so online at QuinteConservation.ca, through the Mackay Pay app, or over the phone at 613-968-3434.
Smith adds, “Donations to our conservation areas are always greatly appreciated. Individuals who feel connected to these spaces and who are able to help can still do so. Even the smallest gift helps to preserve, protect, and maintain these areas.”
To find a conservation area near you, visit quinteconservation.ca or call the office at 613-968-3434
In addition, Quinte Conservation would also like to thank visitors for practicing physical distancing protocols and for following other COVID-19 measures in order to keep these areas open and safe for themselves and other users.
