The Quinte Source Protection Authority is thrilled to announce an innovative partnership with Prince Eddy’s Brewing Company in Prince Edward County, ON. A new locally made lager showcases the important message of protecting drinking water sources through the slogan: Great beer starts with clean water. This message stands true as the brewery takes its municipal water from Picton Bay and uses that to make a variety of lagers and IPAs.
With a Level 1 – Low Water status in effect for the Quinte Watershed, Quinte Conservation Staff have performed dam operations at Second Depot Lake and Third Depot Lake dams located in the Napanee region watershed, to help improve the significantly low water levels in the Napanee River. Residents are warned to be cautious as water levels on First Depot Lake and Depot Creek, downstream of the dams, are expected to rise quickly in response to the operation, while Second Depot Lake will slowly decline.
The Quinte Region Low Water Response Team has issued a Level 1 - Low Water Condition for the Quinte Watershed.
