Quinte Conservation landholdings are leased for hunting activities from September 1 to December 31 (inclusive). Outside of the lease period, all hunt properties are open to the general public for regulated hunting purposes.

To hunt on a Quinte Conservation property, individuals must follow Provincial Hunting Regulations and Federal Hunting Regulations and have appropriate Provincial and Federal license(s) and stamps/tags. Hunting is not allowed at any conservation area, water control structure, or land holding.

Report hunting violations to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry TIPS Hotline at 1-877-847-7667.

  • Hunting is only permitted for lease holders and their guests from September 1ˢᵗ to December 31ˢᵗ (inclusive). The lease holder's have exclusive hunt privileges on a three-year term basis.
  • Once this 3-year term expires, current lease holders are given first right of refusal, followed by adjacent property owners. Once this process has been exhausted, we turn to our waitlist.
  • If you would like to be added to our waitlist, please email your full name, phone number, and email address to info@quinteconservation.ca.

  • Are tree stands or blinds allowed? - Yes.
    • Temporary, portable tree stands or blinds are permitted during the Agreement Period of September 1st - December 31st and must be removed annually. Any tree stand or blind remaining on Quinte Conservation property at the end of the Agreement Period becomes the sole property of Quinte Conservation and is subject to disposal.
  • Can members of the public access the leased Property during the Agreement Period? – No.
    • Only the lease holder or invited guests may use the leased Property between September 1st - December 31st.
  • Am I allowed to provide notice to the public that this property is off limits during an active hunt? – Yes.
    • During the Agreement Period of September 1st - December 31st, hunters are allowed and encouraged to install the provided signage from the lease package at any main trail entrance to the leased property. Quinte Conservation suggests ‘flagging tape’ be installed to indicate the presence of such signage and discourage public access to any specified hunt area. Should members of the public have questions, they can be directed to call Quinte Conservation head office at 613-968-3434. After the Agreement Period, the property is open to public use.
  • Am I allowed to trespass to gain access to my leased property? No.
    • Unless exclusive permission is granted from the property lease holder/owner, the “Hunter” is not permitted to trespass. Any Hunter found trespassing on another lease holders’/owners’ property will be reported to the proper authorities and any lease agreement associated with the trespassing Hunter will be terminated. It is the responsibility of the lease holder to know the boundaries of the leased property and make all other invited guest Hunters aware of this information.

Quinte Conservation leases its vacant land holdings for exclusive hunting uses during the September 1st to December 31st each year.

Please be advised that public use of these properties is prohibited during the lease period. Hunting is not permitted at any conservation area and is strictly monitored.

Please see the Outdoor Spaces page for maintained Conservation Areas where hunting is not permitted.
