2026-07-28 FROM SCALES, TAILS, AND TRAILS – THERE IS SO MUCH TO LEARN ABOUT DURING DISCOVERY DAY AT VANDERWATER CONSERVATION AREA

Thomasburg, ON. – Join Quinte Conservation for a day of exploration, fun, and learning during Discovery Day at Vanderwater on Tuesday, August 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This free, family-friendly event offers a wonderful opportunity for all ages to connect with nature through a variety of engaging activities.

“We're excited to welcome the community back to Discovery Day at Vanderwater for another year of outdoor fun and exploration,” says Lindsay Nash, Outreach and Stewardship Coordinator for Quinte Conservation. “With interactive activities, live reptiles & birds of prey, and hands-on experiences, there's something for everyone to discover.”

Event Highlights:

• See magnificent birds of prey up close and learn about their significant role in our ecosystem with FalconEd.
• Get to know the fascinating reptiles that call Ontario home and understand their significance in the environment with Reptilia.
• Participate in fun and educational hands-on activities while you learn about invasive species, the wonders of the watershed, and how aquatic bugs can be good indicators of water quality.
• Create your own nature-inspired crafts.
• Enjoy a BBQ and refreshments (by donation) while you explore the day's activities, courtesy of the Madoc Lions Club.

Discovery Day at Vanderwater is free to attend, including parking. All children must be accompanied by an adult to participate.
