2026-09-18 QUINTE CONSERVATION TO HOST PUBLIC INFORMATION CENTRE ON 3RD DEPOT DAM PROJECT

A tall dam with two outlets that have water pouring from them. Rocks line the sides of the dam where it meets the water and trees fill in the space surrounding the dam

Quinte Conservation has commenced a Class Environmental Assessment study regarding Third Depot Lake Dam, located at the outlet of Third Depot Lake into Depot Creek in Lot 7, Concession 8, Hinchinbrooke Township, Frontenac County.

Constructed in the mid-to-late 1970s, the dam is reaching the end of its lifespan. The deteriorating condition of the dam necessitates that a decision be made on whether to decommission, rehabilitate, or replace the existing dam within the next 5 years.

The public is invited to a public information centre to learn about the project, speak with staff and consultants, and view potential project outcomes.
