Project Background

In 2021, Quinte Conservation undertook a Seepage Study at Third Depot Lake Dam. The report identified a seepage path through the steel water barrier in the middle of the main dam. It also suggested that through the 50+ year lifespan of the dam the internal sheet pile system may have become significantly deteriorated. The study recommended that Quinte Conservation investigate the system by exposing sections of the sheet pile to determine if the theoretical deterioration matched the actual conditions. Learn More.
