Join Quinte Conservation for a day of exploration, fun, and learning during Discovery Day at Vanderwater on Tuesday, August 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This free, family-friendly event offers a wonderful opportunity for all ages to connect with nature through a variety of engaging activities.

A highly successful 2025 Adopt an Acre campaign has brought in over $8,000 to support the expansion of the pollinator meadow at South Potter’s Creek Conservation Area, located at 2056 Old Hwy. 2 in Belleville, ON.

Quinte Conservation has installed a Wind Phone at Sidney Conservation Area — a quiet space designed for reflection, connection, and healing for those who are grieving. Located at the end of a newly created trail beneath a canopy of towering trees, visitors will find a hand-carved phone booth containing an unconnected telephone.

The Province of Ontario has passed Bill 68, ‘Plan to Protect Ontario Act’, which will establish a new provincial agency to oversee the activities of conservation authorities and will have the power to direct regional strategic planning, and financial & operational matters. 

A generous donation from the Alva Foundation has made a lasting impact at Sidney Conservation Area. Funding supported trail and infrastructure improvements including a new entrance sign and information kiosk, improved parking, and the addition of a brand-new trail.

This year's Adopt an Acre fundraiser supports the expansion of the pollinator meadow at South Potter's Creek - a hand-on learning tool and demonstration site aimed at teaching the importance of protecting local pollinator species through native wild flower plantings and habitat creation.
