Project Background

Quinte Conservation is planning to install a safety boom upstream of the Quinte Conservation owned Milford Dam.

The boom will act as a physical barrier and visual warning to keep public and watercraft away from the weir. The anchors will be placed above the high-water mark on either shore and consist of a poured in place concrete block. The boom itself will be angled between the bridge piers to allow for self retrieval on the north shore. The boom will be left in year-round.

The official public notice as required by the Canadian Navigable Waters Act can be found below under the project files tab.
