2026-08-06 QUINTE CONSERVATION ISSUES UPDATED WATERSHED CONDITIONS STATEMENT – WATER SAFETY DUE TO RECENT RAINFALLThe Quinte region has experienced a wetter than normal summer season. This summer rivers and lakes have been well above normal levels for this time of year. These levels although unseasonally high, were below or within the range normally experienced in the springtime after the snowmelt induced freshet.

FALL DAM OPERATIONS FOR WINTER CONDITIONS STARTING OCTOBER 14, 2025Quinte Conservation is conducting annual dam operations in the Moira and Napanee regions on, or after, Tuesday, October 14.

QUINTE CONSERVATION OPERATES SECOND DEPOT AND THIRD DEPOT LAKE DAMS TO SUPPORT INCREASED FLOWS IN THE NAPANEE RIVER
With a Level 1 – Low Water status in effect for the Quinte Watershed, Quinte Conservation Staff have performed dam operations at Second Depot Lake and Third Depot Lake dams located in the Napanee region watershed, to help improve the significantly low water levels in the Napanee River. Residents are warned to be cautious as water levels on First Depot Lake and Depot Creek, downstream of the dams, are expected to rise quickly in response to the operation, while Second Depot Lake will slowly decline.
