A generous donation from the Alva Foundation has made a lasting impact at Sidney Conservation Area. Funding supported trail and infrastructure improvements including a new entrance sign and information kiosk, improved parking, and the addition of a brand-new trail.
This year's Adopt an Acre fundraiser supports the expansion of the pollinator meadow at South Potter's Creek - a hand-on learning tool and demonstration site aimed at teaching the importance of protecting local pollinator species through native wild flower plantings and habitat creation.
Residents can purchase coniferous & deciduous trees, as well as small shrubs, all in 1–2-gallon pots and ranging between 1-3 feet tall, for $15 each.
Community volunteers, along with over sixty students from Park Dale Public School planted three hundred and fifty trees and shrubs in Cascade Park on Friday morning.
Belleville, ON - The public is invited to attend an information session on September 16th to learn about the negative impacts Water Soldier (Stratiotes aloides) has on local aquatic ecosystems and the proactive measures Quinte Conservation, the Ministry of Environment, Conservation & Parks, and the Ontario Federation of Anglers & Hunters are taking to combat this species in the Bay of Quinte.
