PHOTO OPPORTUNITY: NEW ENVIRONMENTAL COMMISSIONER TO MEET WITH QUINTE CONSERVATION AUTHORITY STAFF FEBRUARY 17
WHAT: Quinte Conservation will be hosting the newly appointed Environmental Commissioner, Dr. Dianne Saxe. General Manager Terry Murphy will be briefing Dr. Saxe on local environmental concerns such as the health of the Bay of Quinte and the local impacts of climate change.
WHERE: Parrott Trail at Potter’s Creek Conservation Area, 2061 Old Highway 2, Belleville (on the south side of the highway – weather permitting – should weather be inclement the meeting will be held inside the QC office on the north side of the highway)

DETAILS: Dr. Dianne Saxe was appointed as Environmental Commissioner on December 1, 2015. She is one of Canada’s most respected environmental lawyers, with 40 years’ experience in environmental law and litigation. As a certified Specialist in Environmental Law, and the only practitioner with a Ph.D. in environmental law, she is considered Canada’s leading author on environmental law.
Terry Murphy, General Manager of Quinte Conservation, will be discussing topics such as programs delivered by Quinte Conservation, health of the Bay of Quinte, climate change, the importance of Conservation Authorities to local municipalities, and environmental issues in Eastern Ontario.
This will be an excellent opportunity to take photos of the new Environmental Commissioner and Quinte Conservation’s General Manager as well as to ask questions about local and provincial environmental issues.
