FOXBORO FLOOD MITIGATION PLAN OPEN HOUSE
Quinte Conservation will be hosting an open house on September 11, 2019 to review the five suggested flood mitigation scenarios for the Foxboro community on the Moira River.
Water Resources Manager Christine McClure says, “There are approximately 200 homes within the Moira River floodplain in Foxboro. The purpose of this project is to investigate possible solutions to reduce flood damages, impacts, and the cost to those living in the floodplain as well as the City of Belleville.” Residents of the area and individuals interested in learning more can visit the Gerry Masterson Community Centre any time between 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Quinte Conservation staff will be available to answer questions. Attendees will have the opportunity to provide comments on the suggested scenarios.
McClure adds, “This open house is an important opportunity for the community to have their say on the proposed flood mitigation options.”
Individuals unable to attend the event can still provide comments to Christine McClure at cmcclure@quinteconservation.ca.
