FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 1, 2019
ADOPT AN ACRE THIS HOLIDAY SEASON AND SUPPORT LOCAL NATURAL SPACES
Quinte Conservation’s popular Adopt an Acre program is back starting November 1, 2019 and the proceeds from your adoption support Quinte Conservation’s local natural spaces.
CAO Brad McNevin says, “Donations from this year’s campaign will be supporting public conservation areas throughout the watershed. We look forward to creating a better experience for our visitors through improvements and maintenance of the areas.”
Acres are $25.00 each and come with an adoption certificate. Purchase two acres and you will receive a Quinte Conservation Annual Parking Pass valid for one year. Adopt an Acre makes a great stocking stuffer and as a bonus, you can take home a plush forest mascot for free.
McNevin adds, “Adopt an Acre is a wonderful gift to give to someone who enjoys spending time in nature, as the annual pass grants visitors free parking and access to all of Quinte Conservation’s areas.”
Proceeds generated from Adopt an Acre support conservation area maintenance. Visitors will see improvements to trail systems as well as upgrades and replacement of structures like bridges, boardwalks, shelters, picnic tables, and benches.
Acres can be adopted by visiting or calling the Quinte Conservation office or by going online to www.quinteconservation.ca.
Quinte Conservation hopes to adopt out 250 acres this year. Last year the program raised over $5,000.
