QUINTE CONSERVATION ISSUES A WATER SAFETY STATEMENT
Quinte Conservation has issued a Water Safety Statement for Lake Ontario and the Bay of Quinte due to forecasts of strong winds and high waves.
According to Environment Canada, high winds reaching up to 50 km are expected throughout the region Thursday evening into Friday. High waves reaching up to 4 metres have also been predicted.

Lake Ontario water levels have returned to a normal seasonal high for this time of year. Levels are expected to continue declining over the next few weeks with sustained high outflows.
The International Joint Commission will continue releasing high outflows from Lake Ontario while considering all the interests within the Lake Ontario – St. Lawrence system.
